About The Position

The Ophthalmology Assistant provides comprehensive patient care, including specialized ophthalmic testing, triage, and patient teaching. The role performs basic and routine eye examination procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating eye diseases and problems, and explains diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients. The main location is Maywood, with travel to Burr Ridge, Hickory Hills, and Oakbrook Terrace as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent training acquired through work experience or education; an Ophthalmic Technician Program is specified.
Less than one year of previous job-related experience is required.
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in manual refraction and applanation tonometry.
After graduation from an ophthalmic technician education course, become a certified ophthalmic assistant within the first year of employment.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.
