About The Position

Presbyterian Medical Group's Dermatology Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our specialty care team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care while supporting dermatologists and advanced practice providers in a fast-paced outpatient dermatology setting. You will play a key role in preparing patients for visits, assisting with dermatologic procedures, coordinating care, and helping patients understand treatment plans. This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on experience, education, and qualifications. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training, competency requirements, and organizational career ladder guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior Healthcare experience preferred
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire
  • BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
  • Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
  • Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
  • Assists with procedures as determined by provider
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Basic foot care
  • May perform regulatory audits as designated by the Clinic Manger
  • Assists with visit closure
  • Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner
  • May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
