About The Position

Henry Ford Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership with administrative and clinical tasks and help ensure a seamless, positive patient experience. The role is with Henry Ford Medical Group, which provides coordinated care across primary and specialty practices. The position is located at 3500 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48310. The listed schedule is Mondays 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Tuesdays 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Wednesdays 8 a.m.–1 p.m., Thursdays 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m.–3 p.m., and the second Saturday of the month from 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. The posting advertises new pay rates and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Meet one of the following: graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours; graduate of a Medical Assistant program without a clinical externship and have at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years; hold a current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification and have at least five years of clinical medical assisting experience; be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); be a licensed Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years; or be military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, providing a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and record vital signs to contribute to patient assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
