About The Position

Lifestream Health Center is seeking a dedicated, long-term Medical Assistant to join its clinical team at a busy, patient-centered pain management practice in Bowie, Maryland. The role supports providers and patients throughout the clinical day, including preparing appointments, assisting with intake and triage, supporting procedures, and maintaining exam rooms and clinical supplies. The practice seeks a reliable professional interested in growing with the practice and providing consistent, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Relative experience required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate professionalism.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

College coursework preferred.
Medical assistant certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for appointments, including chart preparation.
Measure and record vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, and temperature.
Assist with patient intake, triage, and documentation in the EMR.
Triage and process patient messages for physicians.
Perform urine drug screenings.
Ensure patient compliance with urine drug screening and PDMP monitoring.
Assist providers in the procedure room with equipment such as C-arm machines and ultrasound.
Manage prescription refills, DME orders, and pre-operative instructions.
Monitor clinical inboxes, voicemails, and patient cases throughout the day.
Stock exam rooms with medical supplies and forms.
Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms.
Maintain inventory, exam rooms, and sterilization processes.
