About The Position

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its growing podiatry practice. The role involves working alongside podiatrists to provide hands-on patient care and physician support in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting. Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making the position suitable for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to develop clinical skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least one year of clinical experience.
Experience with medical terminology.
Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused approach.
Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

CMA or RMA certification.

Responsibilities

Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
Take vital signs; update medical histories; record medications and allergies; and document in the EMR.
Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-operative care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
Apply dressings and DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide customer service.
Open, prepare, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; and manage inventory and supplies.
Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
