About The Position

The Medical Assistant works under the clinical supervision of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider in a primary care practice. The role assists with preparing for and delivering patient care as directed by providers and other licensed clinical personnel. Clinical duties must be performed skillfully and consistently in accordance with established clinical policies and procedures.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 standard weekly hours. The position is based at Southwest Primary Care. Cook Children’s is a not-for-profit pediatric healthcare organization with medical centers, a physician network, and other health services, including more than 60 primary, specialty, and urgent care locations throughout Texas. Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant school or current medical assistant certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Maintain primary residence in Texas throughout employment.
• Maintain all licenses and credentials required for the position throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• National certification preferred.
