About The Position
SIMEDHealth is seeking compassionate and detail-oriented full-time Medical Assistants for its clinics in the Lady Lake office. The Medical Assistant supports patient care and the efficient operation of clinical services, with a focus on customer service, safety, and professionalism. This position is performed on-site because it involves direct patient care and use of on-site medical equipment; remote work is not available.
Requirements
- Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or national certification.
- One to two years of experience using electronic health records.
- At least one year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting.
- Bilingual abilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and complete patient information is available in electronic medical records.
- Welcome patients to exam rooms and document vital signs in the EHR.
- Coordinate medication refill requests between patients and providers.
- Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral or topical medications, within training and qualifications.
- Assist with and perform patient procedures such as EKGs, spirometry, dressings, and wound care, based on expertise and clinic needs.
- Triage patient phone calls and respond to medical inquiries.
- Help patients navigate referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
