About The Position

This role involves preparing patients for examinations and treatments, taking and recording medical histories and vital signs, and assisting physicians during physical examinations. The Medical Assistant will also administer medications and treatments under supervision, collect samples for laboratory tests, and operate and maintain medical equipment. Maintaining a clean and sterile work environment and performing administrative duties such as answering phones and managing patient records are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be dynamic, energetic, and detail-oriented
  • Self-starter possessing strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Complies with all Federal, State, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines as well as organizational policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to support and implement new ideas and technology in daily workload to improve practice workflow
  • Must demonstrate superior customer service skills and communicate with patients in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and respectful manner
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, employees, other managers, and physicians

Nice To Haves

  • Prior medical/healthcare experience with at least one major EMR/EHR system
  • Experience with Availity
  • Familiarity with methods involved in obtaining prior authorizations and insurance eligibility
