About The Position

Assists with the examination, treatment, and care of patients. The role also supports clinic operations by answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance authorizations for tests or surgeries, and preparing medical records. This position may travel to various clinical locations as needed to meet patient needs and may transport patients to other areas of the hospital.

Requirements

BLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Obtain patient records pertinent to the visit.
Perform patient intake, including vital signs and patient history.
Perform point-of-care testing procedures as trained and instructed.
Maintain clean exam rooms and instrumentation; dispose of contaminated and disposable items according to clinic, Infection Control, and OSHA requirements.
Order medical supplies according to clinical standards.
Document incidents according to hospital policies and procedures.
Ensure patient information is scanned appropriately and medical records are complete and accurate, including reports signed by a physician, before patient visits.
Provide assigned patient care in a manner that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
Use AIDET guidelines and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
Transport patients to other areas of the hospital as needed.
Perform administrative duties, including filing, faxing, copying, scheduling appointments, insurance verification, and making phone calls.
Travel to various clinical locations as necessary to meet patient needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
