About The Position
Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join its Float Pool team. The CNA is a member of the patient care team and assists with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a supplemental position at 0.01 FTE, with hours and shifts as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of patient care standards and practices, normally acquired through a high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and completion of a nursing assistant course.
- Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry is required; current registry status is recommended.
- Current BLS certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire. Clinical personnel must maintain BLS training through independent study, online manikin practice, and knowledge testing. Acceptable programs include the American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider course or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
- Meet annual CEU/continuing education requirements as recommended by the Education Council for the given year.
Nice To Haves
- One year of nursing assistant experience in an acute care setting, or previous work experience in a post-acute care setting or nursing home, is beneficial.
- For Home Health and Hospice roles, current CNA certification is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
