About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Pediatric Neurology team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team provides comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced department and offers educational tools and preceptors to support learning in General Pediatric Neurology. Medical Assistants are part of the clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, with opportunities to learn across different types of primary care and specialty practices or specialize in one area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the clinical support team.
