Medical Assistant, Neurology
About The Position
Northside Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Neurology practice. The role provides nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs. The Medical Assistant assists physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performs patient-care duties as part of a multidisciplinary team, as delegated by a physician. Specific duties and responsibilities are determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established. The stated work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Requirements
- One year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Visual color acuity screening, depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting.
- Perform patient-care duties within a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by a physician.
