About The Position
A ProMedica Medical Assistant is a key member of the patient-centric care delivery model in an office setting. The role communicates with patients and coworkers and collaborates with leadership to recommend changes that improve patient care. The Medical Assistant helps provide a safe patient experience from arrival at a ProMedica facility. Duties include gathering patient data, documenting reasons for visits, obtaining vital signs, answering patient phone calls, and relaying messages for providers or nurses. The role requires communication with patients, peers, and all members of the health care team. The description is intended to summarize the general nature and level of work and is not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- BLS (CPR): must present a current American Heart Association BLS course card at employment or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a medical office.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
