About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is hiring an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant in Andalusia, Alabama. The role supports providers in delivering care across urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The Medical Assistant assists with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, helping ensure optimal delivery of medical care. The position follows a rotating schedule of four workdays one week and three the next, totaling seven workdays in each 14-day period and including every other weekend. Clinic hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Clinic hours are subject to change. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Prior medical assisting experience or education.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
Triage patients promptly and according to clinic procedures.
Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patient medical histories before visits.
Perform lab tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays according to provider directions.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
