About The Position
MainStreet Family Care is seeking energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistants to support care delivery across its urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The Medical Assistant assists the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, and helps ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care. This is a part-time PRN position in Arab, Alabama. Scheduling flexibility is essential, and there may be opportunities to travel to other clinics as needed. Clinic hours are subject to change. MainStreet clinics are generally open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. KidsStreet clinic hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The position begins at $15 per hour. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Nice To Haves
- Prior medical assisting experience or education.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
- Triage patients promptly in accordance with clinic procedures.
- Record vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
- Perform laboratory tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
- Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
- Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
- Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Position patients for x-rays as directed by providers.
- Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
