About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to assist on-site providers and help deliver care across urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The role supports patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, with a focus on timely triage and smooth clinic workflow. PRN scheduling requires flexibility, and there may be opportunities to travel to other clinics as needed. Clinic hours are listed as Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for MainStreet clinics. KidsStreet clinics operate Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Clinic hours may change. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Flexibility with scheduling for the PRN rotating schedule.

Nice To Haves

Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
Record vital signs, weight, and updates to patient medical histories before visits.
Perform lab tests according to clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and ready for appointments.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays following provider directions.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
