About The Position

Spero Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join its team in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Medical Assistant supports patient scheduling and clinic flow, performs screenings and basic clinical tasks, maintains electronic health records, assists with medication-related processes, and handles administrative and payment responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma.
1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role.
Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
Phlebotomy and laboratory experience.
Experience with injections.

Responsibilities

Schedule patient appointments.
Answer incoming calls and regularly check voice messages.
Check patients in and out and monitor patient flow.
Perform urine drug screens, take vital signs, and assist with patient evaluations.
Call in patient medication as directed by a physician.
Enter accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
Send prior authorizations to insurance companies.
Perform daily financial summaries and balance payments received.
Collect cash and verify benefits.
Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
