Medical Assistant (Part-Time)

About The Position

Spero Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support its mission of saving lives, instilling hope, and restoring relationships. The Medical Assistant works as part of an integrated care team serving patients receiving counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment. The role is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Phlebotomy certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
Experience with injections.

Responsibilities

Schedule patient appointments.
Answer incoming calls and regularly check voicemail messages.
Check patients in and out and monitor patient flow.
Perform urine drug screens, take vital signs, and assist with patient evaluations.
Call in patient medication as directed by a physician.
Enter accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
Send prior authorizations to insurance companies.
Complete the daily financial summary and balance payments received.
Collect cash payments and verify benefits.
Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
