About The Position

SIMEDHealth is seeking compassionate and detail-oriented part-time Medical Assistants for its Lady Lake office. The role supports patient care and efficient clinical operations, with a focus on customer service, safety, and professionalism. The schedule uses blocked daily shifts of either 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. The position requires on-site work because it involves direct patient care and the use of on-site medical equipment; remote work is not available.

Requirements

• Current BLS/CPR certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or national certification.
• One to two years of experience using electronic health records.
• At least one year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting.
• Bilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and complete patient information is available in electronic medical records.
• Welcome patients to the exam room and document their vital signs in the EHR.
• Coordinate medication refill requests between patients and providers.
• Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral or topical medications, according to training and qualifications.
• Assist with and perform patient procedures such as EKGs, spirometry, dressings, and wound care, based on expertise and clinic needs.
• Triage patient phone calls and respond helpfully to medical inquiries.
• Help patients navigate referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
