Bring Expertise and Heart to Women’s Health We are seeking a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and/or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Obstetrics & Gynecology team in Whitefish, Montana. Requirements

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required within eighteen (18) months of hire: Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program; or Completion of a Medical Assistant program offered by a school accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, including a minimum of 720 clock hours of training and an externship of at least 160 hours.
  • Current Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR certification preferred or must successfully complete prior to completion of orientation.
  • Ability to practice within Logan Health's Medical Assistant scope of practice and competency requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Previous experience in OB/GYN or women’s health preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, and pharmacology preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, patient safety practices, infection prevention, HIPAA requirements, and regulatory standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare patients for examination and treatment, obtaining and documenting medical histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on patient and provider needs.
  • Assist providers with physical examinations, minor procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform approved procedures including suture and staple removal, application of dressings, splints, casts, and other duties within scope of practice.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform approved clinical support functions.
  • Assist with appointments, diagnostic testing, procedures, referrals, authorizations, and patient coordination.
  • Respond to incoming calls and patient portal messages, gathering information and directing concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies according to infection prevention and safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient information within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in department meetings, process improvement initiatives, and ongoing education as requested.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
