About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to work in urgent care. The role is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Urgent care is described as a fast-paced environment with a diverse and continuously changing patient population. The position is based at the Care Center Wyoming in Wyoming, Michigan, and is a float position with variable shifts and days. The scheduled hours are 36.75 per week, with work hours between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. and every other weekend. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered to external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
