About The Position
As a Medical Assistant-Certified at Henry Ford Health, you will support patient care by assisting with examinations and treatments under the direction of physicians or advanced practice providers. The role helps maintain smooth clinic operations and enhance the patient experience. The position is based at the Rochester campus and is full-time, with a 40-hour day shift.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Medical Assistant certification from any issuing authority, obtained within 90 days of hire or job transfer.
- High school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with treatments ordered by providers under supervision.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones and maintaining records.
- Order and stock supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
- Document provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.
