About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for the Urology Oncology Surgery team at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida. The position is 40 hours per week and is based at the Downtown BMDA Building at 1301 Palm Ave. The role supports providers and the clinical team in delivering oncology care. An up to $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• The posting lists 2 years of patient care experience and 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• The posting lists 3–5 years of experience working in a medical office.
• The posting also lists less than 1 year of medical training program experience, less than 1 year of immunization experience, 1–2 years of administrative assistant experience, and 1–2 years of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the clinical team, including providers.
• Obtain vital signs.
• Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Provide patient education.
• Maintain room stock and turn over exam rooms.
• Maintain medical documentation and patient intake, including preparing charts.
• Prepare medical equipment for sterilization.
• Assist with clinic procedures, including preparation of sterile fields.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist with staple, suture, and drain removal as directed.
• Prepare sterile fields for in-office procedures.
• Manage clinical equipment and supply inventory.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians and other clinical team members.
