About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is 40 hours per week and supports the Urology Oncology Surgery clinical team. The Medical Assistant assists providers and other clinical staff with patient care, clinic procedures, documentation, and day-to-day clinical operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience qualifications listed: less than 1 year of medical training program experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: less than 1 year of immunization experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: 1–2 years of administrative assistant experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: 1–2 years of medical office experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: 2 years of patient care experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: 2 years of medical assistant experience.
• Experience qualifications listed: 3–5 years of experience working in a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to providers and the clinical team.
• Obtain vital signs.
• Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Provide patient education.
• Maintain room stock and turn over exam rooms.
• Maintain medical documentation and patient intake, including preparing charts.
• Prepare medical equipment for sterilization.
• Assist with clinic procedures, including preparation of sterile fields.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist with staple, suture, and drain removal as directed.
• Prepare sterile fields for in-office procedures.
• Manage clinical equipment and supply inventory.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians and other clinical team members.
