About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed in support of patient care. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs and functions of the assigned clinic or work location. The role is expected to follow established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

• Complete coursework or training through one of the following: graduate from an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants; graduate from a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program; complete two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces; or have at least one year of medical assistant work experience that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Upon hire, hold National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• At least 6 months of healthcare experience.
• At least 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.

• Upon hire, National Medical Assistant Certification.
