About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs. The role assists physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performs patient-care duties as delegated by a physician within a multidisciplinary patient-care team. Specific duties are determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.

Requirements

• One year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Visual color acuity screening, depending on the role in specific units.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs.
• Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting.
• Perform patient-care duties within a multidisciplinary patient-care team as delegated by a physician.
• Carry out duties assigned by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
