About The Position

IMS Care Center is seeking a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable Medical Assistant for its Primary Care Clinic in Avondale. The Medical Assistant supports patients and their family members before, during, and after visits, and works alongside doctors, nurses, and other clinical personnel to help the clinic run smoothly. The role includes assisting with patient care and performing office-based testing and treatments under clinician supervision.

Requirements

• At least 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school, or passage of the Medical Assistant examination.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Athena EMR.

Responsibilities

• Room patients.
• Take vital signs and review patient history.
• Prepare and clean rooms and prepare patients for physician encounters.
• Perform office-based testing and treatments related to patient care under clinician supervision.
• Coordinate and manage patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling for clinic, hospital, and other ancillary medical treatments and tests.
• Resolve patient concerns promptly.
