About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the assigned area or office by performing routine clinical and administrative duties. The role is listed under the Medical Surgical Unit, whose team provides compassionate inpatient care for patients recovering from illness, injury, and surgical procedures. The team works collaboratively to provide safe, patient-centered care and promote positive outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
• CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office.
• Take vital signs, document patient history, and update electronic health records.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures, and with administering medications or injections.
• Perform basic lab tasks, prepare specimens, and keep exam rooms clean and stocked.
• Support front-office and patient-care coordination, including scheduling, insurance verification, and patient education.
