About The Position

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its 39-bed Medical Surgical unit. The CNA provides patient care alongside Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other CNAs in a collaborative environment focused on high-quality care. The unit has a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. This is a full-time night position scheduled for three 12-hour shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends.

Requirements

• Current listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services, with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides nursing care.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, in a stressful environment, and take appropriate action.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Help keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
