About The Position

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide to join its Med/Surg unit. This full-time, day-schedule position is scheduled for 36 hours per week and every other weekend. The CNA supports the hospital’s mission and core values, follows hospital policies and compliance expectations, contributes to a respectful and organized environment, and supports coworkers while helping provide excellent patient care.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification is required.
• Proof of 75+ Hour CNA Certification is required upon hire.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate support for and adherence to the ORHC Mission and Core Values.
• Know and comply with hospital policies, including the Employee Handbook and policies in Policy Stat.
• Use the chain of command to raise concerns and suggestions.
• Demonstrate integrity, comply with the company compliance program, and report questionable practices through appropriate channels.
• Show respect for others and oneself.
• Create a positive first impression through friendly greetings, conversation, facilitating transitions, following the dress code, wearing a name badge above the waist, and keeping work areas, the hospital, and grounds clean, neat, and organized.
• Support coworkers, recognize their contributions, be encouraging, and manage up fellow coworkers.
• Take pride in the health center and act as an ambassador for Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
• Care for ORHC equipment, supplies, and resources and use them efficiently.
