About The Position
The Medical Assistant is a key member of ProMedica’s patient-centric care delivery model in an office setting. The role involves communicating with patients and coworkers and collaborating with leadership to recommend changes that improve patient care. The Medical Assistant helps provide a safe patient experience by gathering patient information, documenting visit reasons, and obtaining vital signs. The position also requires communicating with patients, peers, and the health care team, answering patient phone calls, and relaying messages for providers or nurses. The listed duties describe the general nature and level of the role and are not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association at the time of employment, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a medical office.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
