About The Position

The Surgical Services Assistant facilitates patient admissions and discharges, including arranging and transporting patients and their personal belongings and completing necessary documentation. The role also cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas, maintains an accurate inventory of clean linens and supplies, and keeps carts and equipment clean, functional, and properly stored. The assistant supports the OR team and environmental services with room turnover responsibilities. This is a full-time day-shift position in Orlando, Florida, working Monday through Friday in 10-hour shifts. There are no weekends or on-call duties.

Requirements

Have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care addressing the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age-appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department.
Be able to read, write, and understand English.
Be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification is required.

High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient admission and discharge processes.
Arrange and transport patients and their personal belongings.
Complete necessary admission and discharge documentation.
Clean patient rooms and other assigned areas daily.
Perform daily inventory to ensure clean linens and supplies are accurately stocked for distribution.
Keep carts and equipment clean and in working condition, and store them in the appropriate area when finished.
Assist the OR team and environmental services with room turnover responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
