About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports patient care at North Alabama Shoals Hospital’s Heart Health service. The role performs basic diagnostic procedures and collects specimens, monitors and communicates changes in patient condition, and documents care provided. It also maintains medical equipment, supplies, and examination areas, and performs assigned administrative or clerical tasks such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

The position is full-time, day shift, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate uses critical thinking and sound judgment, works with minimal supervision, and takes appropriate action in a stressful environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take appropriate action in a stressful environment.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities
