About The Position
Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Family Medicine practice at Ionia ICC. The practice includes Family Medicine, a Walk-In clinic, Women’s Health, laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound services. It emphasizes teamwork and a safe, supportive, collaborative workplace, with employee recognition events throughout the year. As a member of the clinical support team, the Medical Assistant works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, spanning over 40 types of primary care and specialty practices. The position is full-time, with 40 scheduled hours per week. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with variable hours between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Weekend frequency is listed as variable. Corewell Health offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus to external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice students only.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
- Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
