Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
About The Position
US Fertility has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Shady Grove Fertility in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The role supports fertility patients and clinical teams, with opportunities to grow within a nationally respected organization. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotating holidays. The position involves high-volume phlebotomy, clinical assistance, patient education and support, specimen handling, and fertility-related procedures. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively while supporting program goals and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- High school diploma.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
- Comfort with computer applications and accuracy and speed in data entry.
- At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
Responsibilities
- Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
- Maintain supplies for blood drawing stations.
- Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
- Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
- Provide patient and couple counseling and procedure teaching; communicate physician orders and instructions.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative education.
- Perform semen washes and set up for intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
- Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
- Use a computer to enter laboratory information and print labels.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Work independently to help achieve program goals.
- Support and promote excellence in customer service.
