Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
About The Position
US Fertility has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Shady Grove Fertility in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The role supports fertility patients through phlebotomy and general clinical assistance, specimen handling, patient education, and administrative tasks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotating holidays. The position offers the opportunity to work within a nationally respected organization focused on reproductive medicine, compassionate patient care, and continuous improvement. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist works independently and collaboratively to support program goals and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- High school diploma.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
- Comfort with computer applications and accuracy and speed in data entry.
- At least one year of prior healthcare experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
Responsibilities
- Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
- Maintain supplies for blood-drawing stations.
- Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
- Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
- Counsel patients and couples, teach procedures, and communicate physician orders and instructions.
- Provide pre- and post-operative education.
- Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs.
- Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
- Use a computer to enter laboratory information and print labels.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Work independently to help achieve program goals.
- Support and promote excellence in customer service.
