About The Position

Premier Neurosurgery is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant who excels at both clinical support and patient care coordination. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned healthcare professional who enjoys building relationships with patients, helping them navigate complex care plans, and serving as a trusted resource throughout their treatment journey. You will work closely with our specialized neurosurgical team to ensure every patient receives a seamless, organized, and compassionate experience from initial consultation through follow-up care. Requirements

  • 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in a specialty practice strongly preferred (neurosurgery, neurology, spine, orthopedics, pain management, or similar)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of patient service
  • Professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients before and after appointments
  • Coordinate imaging, referrals, authorizations, and follow-up care
  • Guide patients through treatment plans and next steps with clarity and responsiveness
  • Communicate with hospitals, imaging centers, referring providers, and specialists
  • Ensure a smooth and organized patient experience from first contact through ongoing care
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Support patient registration and check-out
  • Initiate referrals and enter orders
  • Initiate and manage insurance authorizations, including coordination and follow-up
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
  • Support physicians and clinical staff in delivering exceptional care
