About The Position

Quadrant, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist for their Hioaks, Virginia location. This role involves a combination of clinical and administrative duties, including patient check-in/check-out, rooming patients, taking vitals, managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with a strong preference for experience in Nephrology or Urology. Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Epic, and experience managing high call volumes are essential. This is a full-time position with a pay rate starting at $18 per hour.

Requirements

  • 2 plus years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience handling new patient referrals
  • Experience working on EMR; knowledge of Epic highly preferred
  • Experience handling and conducting high amounts of calls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience rooming patients and taking vitals
  • Specialty experience, Nephrology or Urology highly preferred
  • Experience working with a busy provider

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Epic highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients

  • Provide clinical help
  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays
  • Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Perform data entry and processing
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain medical records
  • Assist with check-in and check-out
