About The Position
The Medical Assistant II works in the Family Practice department at Prime Healthcare–St Mary Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. The role assists physicians with patient care and with clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. It also handles appointment scheduling and chart management, provides information to patients so they can fully use and benefit from clinic services, and conveys a positive image of the organization. The schedule is Monday through Friday, on the day shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant certification.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it as current.
- At least one year of work experience in a public-contact job.
- Current phlebotomy certification or competency.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in health care is preferred.
