Medical Assistant II
About The Position
The Medical Assistant II supports providers with patient care and performs clerical, insurance verification, prior authorization, environmental, and organizational tasks. The role includes scheduling appointments, managing patient charts, and providing patients with information that helps them use and benefit from clinic services. The Medical Assistant II conveys a positive image of the organization. All clinical tasks must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, or PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available.
Requirements
- At least six months of experience in urgent care, a primary care physician practice setting, and/or direct patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
- Fluency in English.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by the department.
