About The Position
The Medical Assistant II supports patient care in a dermatology practice, helping provide a welcoming, complete, and positive patient experience. The role works closely with providers during appointments and procedures, helps keep clinic operations organized and efficient, and contributes to a supportive team environment. The work takes place in a medical office, procedure/exam room, and laboratory environment, where exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances may occur.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Successful completion of a state-approved Medical Assistant program; applicants with extensive experience may be considered unless the program is required by state law.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction; the employer will not sponsor work visas.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and prepare them for their visits.
- Answer patients’ care-related questions thoughtfully.
- Assist providers with hands-on patient care and procedures.
- Capture detailed visit notes.
- Fulfill prescription orders.
- Maintain supplies and equipment and understand the flow of exam rooms.
- Identify creative ways to improve clinic efficiency.
- Help teammates, keep work organized, and contribute to a positive, supportive environment.
