About The Position

ChristianaCare’s Minimal Invasive Gyn Surgical Department in Map II in Newark, Delaware, is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. The department provides specialized gynecologic care for conditions including endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and chronic pelvic pain, using minimally invasive techniques and individualized treatment plans. The Medical Assistant I supports physicians in virtual and on-site patient care by performing clinical and clerical duties that help ensure quality care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The posted hourly pay range is $19.48–$28.24. Actual compensation depends on individual factors, including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program, or current Medical Assistant certification from a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Strong communication, integrity, and technical and clinical skills.
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
Prepare patients for visits.
Perform basic clinical tasks, including testing, injections, and EKGs.
Assist with examinations.
Maintain examination rooms and equipment.
Update electronic medical records (EMR).
Manage patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
Handle clerical duties.
Troubleshoot video visits and support patient portal access.
