ChristianaCare's Women's Health at Map II in Newark, DE is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with strong gynecology (GYN) expertise, preferably including experience supporting both medical and surgical pregnancy termination procedures. Due to the complexity of the role and the specialized patient population we serve, the ideal candidate will be able to quickly integrate into the practice, work independently, and confidently support providers with minimal onboarding.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • Strong gynecology (GYN) expertise.
  • Experience supporting both medical and surgical pregnancy termination procedures.
  • Ability to quickly integrate into the practice, work independently, and confidently support providers with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
