About The Position

ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for the Hematology Oncology practice at the Helen F. Graham Center in Newark, DE and Wilmington, DE. ChristianaCare’s Hematology–Oncology program delivers expert, compassionate care for patients with blood disorders and cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and MDS. Our fellowship‑trained specialists work within a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and leading‑edge therapies, including CAR‑T and stem‑cell transplantation. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
  • Prepares patients for visits
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
  • Assists with exams
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment
  • Manages EMR updates
  • Handles patient communications
  • Manages referrals
  • Manages authorizations
  • Manages scheduling
  • Handles clerical duties
  • Troubleshoots video visits
  • Supports patient portal access
