About The Position

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
BLS certification required
Excellent gross and fine motor skills
Cognitive, organizational & emotional maturity
Non-judgmental, empathetic patient care
Strong interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate, organized, flexible, team-oriented and open to feedback
Maintain knowledge through ongoing education and training

Nice To Haves

Degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field preferred
Previous experience in a hospital, orthopedic, sports medicine, or physician office setting preferred
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required within 6 months of hire
Orthopedic certification required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care support in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic
Assist physicians with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures
Perform cast applications and removals, fracture care, dressing changes, brace fittings, and patient education
Support inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care
Apply and monitor mobilization and immobilization devices, including slings, braces, traction equipment, and continuous passive motion machines
Coordinate surgery and procedure scheduling
Ensure all required testing, authorizations, and resources are coordinated prior to procedures
