Medical Assistant Apprentice - Cohort 31 - July 27
About The Position
CoxHealth offers a unique, paid Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program designed to provide hands-on training and free tuition through the OTC Medical Assistant Program. Upon acceptance, participants sign a work agreement to commit to two and a half years of full-time employment with CoxHealth Clinics. The program includes a 16-week accelerated, in-person course with classroom time at OTC and clinical rotations in various Springfield, Branson, and rural clinics. Apprentices will observe preceptors and perform hands-on tasks to prepare them for a Medical Assistant role upon graduation. Successful completion leads to an MA certification and eligibility for Medical Assistant III positions. Graduates will apply and interview for open Medical Assistant positions within CoxHealth Clinics prior to program completion.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in basic math, computer and English skills
- Exhibits positive customer service skills
- Commitment to a 16-week accelerated, in-person course
- Commitment to work Full Time for CoxHealth Clinics for two and a half years upon acceptance to the program.

- 1 year of medical field experience
Responsibilities
