About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time contractual Medical Assistance Transportation Driver position will be to provide transportation for Medical Assistance eligible clients to and from medical services. This may include aged, physically or mentally ill, or developmentally disabled clients. This position is subject to early morning, evening, weekend and holiday hours. The selected applicant must be willing and able to travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites.

Requirements

  • Six months of experience operating automotive vehicles transporting passengers, patients or clients.
  • Possess or obtain a Class C non-commercial driver’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, violence management and basic first aid training.
  • Provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached.
  • Willingness to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
  • Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

Nice To Haves

  • Employees assigned duties which may involve the operation of large passenger vehicles will be required to possess a driver’s license of the appropriate class valid in the State of Maryland.
