About The Position

This position will be primarily required to safely operate company vehicles while transporting goods and materials for customers for pickup and delivery. This position will be required to cross the border to the Buckland Warehouse in Port Huron, MI. The Transportation Driver will be required to load and unload their truck daily as well assist with warehouse duties on occasion when work warrants.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
DZ license required
Current copy of Personal Drivers Abstract
FAST Card / Valid Passport for Border Crossing
Must be able and willing to travel to the USA
Must be able to work with little supervision and have self-direction
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication abilities
Must be able to meet insurable requirements from organization Insurance provider in order to be insured
Eligibility to consistently qualify to be insured by ILDS Insurance provider.
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
Valid Passport with ability to travel USA

Nice To Haves

Applicants do not require CAD or USA work experience but for some positions may require CAD or USA standard regulations knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

Operate straight trucks to transport goods and materials in a safe and timely manner.
Comply with applicable legislation including carriage of goods, driver’s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions.
Check all cargo related documentation, and record hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection, report any issues and oversee all aspects of safe operation of the vehicle.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicles promptly.
Use cross-border and e-logs software as well as necessary communication technology.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
Effectively use cross-border and e-logs software.
