About The Position

Velazquez Pain Relief Center (VPRC) is a leading interventional pain management practice in Las Vegas with multiple locations. They specialize in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from personal injury and workplace injuries. The role is dynamic, operating at the intersection of healthcare and legal, requiring coordination of care and documentation with patients, attorneys, insurance adjusters, and clinical staff. No prior PI or workers' comp experience is required, as training will be provided to the right candidate who is fast, reliable, learns quickly, and takes pride in their work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Strong organizational skills — you manage multiple priorities without losing details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to learn new software quickly

  • Professional, friendly demeanor with patients and external contacts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR
  • Familiarity with personal injury, workers' comp, or medical billing
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working with attorneys, insurance companies, or legal staff
  • Medical assistant certification (CMA or RMA)

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient records, referrals, and documentation for PI and/or workers' comp cases
  • Coordinate with personal injury attorneys, case managers, and paralegals to obtain necessary authorizations and case information
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and adjusters to verify benefits and coordinate workers' comp claims
  • Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits across multiple VPRC locations
  • Prepare and send medical records, reports, and billing documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient accounts in our EMR system (eClinicalWorks)
  • Track outstanding items on active cases and follow up proactively
  • Support the billing and lien management team as needed
  • Handle high call volume professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
