About The Position
Gray Media is seeking motivated college students for its Fall '26 Training Program at WALA FOX10 News in Mobile, AL. This 10-week immersive experience is designed for students pursuing careers in media production, reporting, weather, or sales. Participants will gain hands-on experience, contribute to real-world assignments, and develop a professional portfolio. The program offers a fast track to potential full-time opportunities within Gray Media's extensive network.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in college (Junior or Senior status preferred).
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- A 'doer' mindset with initiative and a willingness to work.
- Understanding of digital media platforms.
- Strong work ethic, organization, and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Commitment to the full 10-week program and 25-hour weekly schedule.
- Passion for local communities and local media.
Responsibilities
- Step into the shoes of a producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales executive and handle real-world assignments.
- Create content for social media, streaming apps, and web stories.
- Collaborate with seasoned media professionals.
- Master a chosen specialty and build a professional-grade portfolio.
- Tell stories that matter to the community or help local businesses grow.
